The polo shirt has been reinvented. Well, sort of.
Former USC student and Greenville native Allen Stephenson has a Southern Tide for Dad.
The former biology major turned clothing designer has created a Southern Tide polo shirt that is tailored for the Southern man. Stephenson said his polo shirts keep guys cool during the dog days of summer. And the shirts have an embroidered skipjack fish logo—a similar concept to that of the Lacoste crocodile.
Why the Skipjack? Stephenson said the fish is popular along the SC coast.
Since debuting in March, Southern Tide polos have shown up in 20 area stores. Locally, the shirts can be found at Britton’s on Devine St.
